We have just cut down a diseased oak tree and want to replace it. We need shade and like the flowering-type trees. We’d like something that doesn’t get too tall or broad (low maintenance), doesn’t attract bugs (or bees) or leave rotting fruit on the ground, and is disease-resistant (to fungus, mold, etc). Occasional trimming of branches is fine. We live in a townhouse with a patio that’s 16ftx16ft, with a sidewalk area in one of the sides. We live in zone 7. Any suggestions?

I am not looking for a disease to humans; I’m doing a project and am not allowed to use that more than once, and I need one more example for how bacteria are harmful to the environment.
There are no living organisms that can be harmful to the sole ecosystem they live in (humans excluded!) Organisms can be harmful to one another (parasites, predators,…) but not to their own environment! There are some sorts of Cyanobacteria whose populations can explode in short amount of time (cyanobacterial blooms)and harm all the organism in the same habitat by exhausting all the oxygen supplies in that water ecosystem, or by producing harmful toxins…
