I am bringing our Aspergers kid tosocial skills coaching for more than a 12 months now and absolutely nothing seems to be improving.. In the lessons , he could do what they’re training our son. However anytime he ventures out into real life with some other children within his class, I never observe him implement whatever he’s been shown. I do believe I’m just wasting our funds if it doesn’t enhance how he actually relates to children not in his social skills course. He could also have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

I’ve not been able to find a decent treatment for my nail infections. Some products stop it, but they don’t stop it coming back so i don’t see why I should spend anymore money!

It took about 12 years and at least that many doctors to get a diagnosis of mastocytosis. Now that I know what I have, I discovered the Mastocytosis Society, and even attended their annual conference this year. If you have a rare disease, you have to advocate for yourself. You have to search for the right doctors, and try different meds until you find the ones that work for you. This experience has changed my attitude toward the professional community. I no longer look upon my doctors as demi-Gods who are all-knowing and all-powerful. They are human beings with specialized sets of knowledge. They can best treat what they see most often, and that excludes us. So, if you are searching for that diagnosis, don’t give up. Get yourself to doctors affiliated with teaching hospitals. Once you get that diagnosis, look for support groups and specialists who are on the cutting edge of research. The internet is your best friend in this respect. But do not give up. You will be frustrated. You will be doubted and questioned. You will be misdiagnosed by doctors who don’t know any better. But it’s your body, and you are responsible for getting the help it needs. These rare diseases often change lives in that they must be taken into primary consideration when doing simple things like planning a meal or a vacation. Your rare disease may prevent you from doing things you used to enjoy, but life is about adjusting. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

This post made me think so much that I mounted a new effort sent me on a research spree to find outhow I could get my ADHD under control enough to use this myself. At first, it was just all the stuff I had already tried until I found a Dr. Weathers website, that presents a really different theory of what creates ADHD, which caught my interest. How would I research out whether he knows something or is a flake? Has any one read one of his books ADHD: A Path to Success or ADHD: Drug-free and Doin’ Fine. What do you think of them? It was so good to see “Clayton’s Story” of Clayton, John, Marty and Dr. Lederman. It lets people know the struggle that patients with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) have and the hope for a cure. If CGD can be cured through gene therapy, this knowledge will help so many other medical disorders in a quest for a cure. Thanks so much.
